Tug on my heart strings

I think I finished up the string blocks for my charity quilt for My very own blanket. I decided to add a heart to the quilt. I have plans of making another quilt with several hearts and a low volume background. I'll add it to my list of things to do.

I also finished the blocks for my fun in the middle blocks for margaret's hope chest. I believe they are looking for more volunteers to make quilts. Check out the post here. Carin was the first poster for the Blogger BOM and created this block and tutorial for us. Now all the blocks created are going to make quilts for orphans in Guatemala. If you have some time consider making one of these quilts for the project. They come together very quick. Here is a terrible picture of mine.....all the blocks are made and sewn into rows of 5. I hope to finish the top before we leave on vacation next week.

  1. I am making a quilt for Carin too! You're right, it does go together fast. I am working on some string blocks in red, white & blue for another charity; it's a little slower but fun to see how they look as you get several done & put together.

  2. I love how you hid that heart in plain sight! It took me a minute and then just jumped out at me. Bravo! I, too, make quilts for foster children. I call mine "because you matter" quilts. :)

  4. I was getting ready to make string blocks, then a good friend gave me a wicker basket that was calling for a strippy lining. Job completed and daughter decided we need new tray cloths and more strips went to those. Neighbour called in for a coffee and loved them so 4 for her and now I need more strips. BTW my chirp fabric landed yesterday and is even lovelier "in the flesh" than I expected. I will now have to source some more as I do not want to mix it up. Thank you very much. Pam
