Blogger BOM - Feb Bonus Block!!!

Today is a bonus installment of Blogger BOM. We had so many great bloggers that we ran out of months and had to add some bonus blocks! The presenter today is Jennifer of Knotted Thread. The block she is showing us is called "Whirlwind". It makes me think of windmills and tulips and spring which is much needed this time of year! The beautiful tutorial can be found on Jennifer's Blog. She has a great blog and a super cute etsy shop with so many awesome fabrics at great prices. And because she is that kind of girl, Jennifer donated the block she made for the tutorial to the charity quilt for Margaret's Hope Chest.

As always there is a super give away! To participate make sure you are a follower and leave a comment on what valentines projects you are making for your sweetie this year. The winner will get this fat quarter pack from Jennifer's etsy shop. It's two yards of Riley Blake fabric. I'm not going to pretend I wasn't tempted to keep it myself. But I will be strong!!!

Giveaway open until 2/14/13

  1. for my sweetie I am finishing up a tshirt quilt that we have been collecting shirts for during the last year. That's a cute block and I will be givign it a try soon.

  2. I'm making those cute heart-shaped ear bud pouches!!

  3. So sad, no sweetie. :( But I'm working on a tote bag for a new baby that a friend is expecting, and I know she'll be a sweetheart, does that count?!

  4. I made a table topper for my formal dining room table. Then I made 4 placemats for my kitchen table and a hot pad. Now, I'm thinking of making two placemats for my neighbor and her hubby to make their Valentines Day sweet as well.

  5. I made a Valentine-themed mini quilt.

  6. I went to Jennifer's blog but couldn't find the name of her etsy shop or a link to it. Could you provide that info in today's post where you mention her etsy shop?

  7. I made a valentine wall hanging.

  8. Lovely block. Enjoy your quilting ; )

  9. Rosemary B here: (my kitties have a blog :-) ) well, your blog always inspires me. I get it in my email and every time I save it to my sewing folder.
Anyway.... this block is great. It looks fun.I bet it would look great for a quilt. I have never made a quilt, just little things

I made a valentine heart shaped mug rug for my hubbs. He works at home (gov't contractor so he is always on the phone with his coffee) He also has glaucoma and misplaces his cup because his vision is not so great, so I think the valentine perky colored mugrug will help him keep track of his cup. heehee

thanks for your amazing blog. I do not always comment, sorry but I always read it.

  10. Hi!! I am hoping to make some heart and butterfly mug rugs!! But they will be for mom and dad!!! My little sweeties I am hoping to make a little stuffed something!!! And Hubby sweetie I would like to make a feather mugrug!!! I am really having fun with the BOM!!! Thank You!!!

  11. So far, my sweeties only get a special dinner, LOL. I'm working on planting trees and have another rescue dog arriving. Thankfully they will love me anyway :)

  12. Totally not fabric related, but I think I'll make him some peanut butter cups *shhhhh* Chocolate is a close 2nd to fabric, isn't it?

  13. I am making 2 wall hangings with hearts on them for my sweetie, one for home and one for his office.

  14. I'm a follower. Just love those colors. Have to say all my sweetie is getting is candy and a apple pie.

  15. Sadly, I will be away from my sweetie on valentines due to work....but, I made him a pot of chili and put it in the fridge for him to enjoy while he's roughing it on his own!

    1. I forgot to mention that I follow you by email. Keep those great posts headed my way and thanks for the giveaway!
